SMATh World’s Media Art division explores the fusion of artistic imagination and digital innovation to craft experiences that transcend the ordinary. Media art for us is not merely about projecting visuals onto walls—it is about constructing immersive universes where history, culture, and creativity intertwine seamlessly.
We have executed projects that bring cultural heritage to life, such as the Cheomseongdae Media Art installation in Gyeongju, which reinterpreted Korea’s oldest astronomical observatory with a digital storytelling approach. By using projection mapping and interactive technology, we transformed a historical monument into a living canvas that connected past wisdom with modern audiences.
In the commercial space, we partnered with Hyundai Department Store and Starfield Hanam to create large-scale digital displays that elevate shopping malls beyond consumerism, turning them into cultural venues. These installations invite audiences to slow down, reflect, and experience retail as an immersive journey rather than a transaction.
Our media art involves
• Projection Mapping – Large-scale visuals aligned with architectural surfaces, bringing static structures to life.
• Interactive Installations – Motion tracking and sensors allow audiences to participate in the artwork.
• Generative Visuals – AI-powered designs that evolve dynamically in real-time.
• Narrative-Driven Experiences – Each work carries a story, whether rooted in history, brand identity, or community memory.
Through media art, SMATh World not only enriches spaces with beauty but also creates a platform for dialogue between tradition and innovation, culture and commerce, people and place.
